Getting started

What exactly is JOYET?+

JOYET is a mobile wallet for Nigerians. You add money to it with crypto, and your balance is in naira. You can then pay bills, buy airtime, data and gift cards, and send money to other JOYET users.

Is JOYET available yet?+

JOYET is launching on Android and iPhone. Join early access and we'll send you the download link first.

Who is behind JOYET?+

JOYET is built by Apaxaa Technologies LTD, a Nigerian technology company. Read more on our About page.

Deposits and crypto

Which crypto can I deposit?+

USDT, USDC, BTC and ETH, on the networks shown in the app. For USDT that includes TRC-20, ERC-20 and BEP-20.

What happens when I deposit?+

You get your own deposit address for the coin and network you pick. When the deposit is confirmed, it is converted at the rate shown in the app and lands in your wallet as naira.

What if I send on the wrong network?+

Always send on the exact network shown, or the deposit can be lost. If it happens, don't send again. Contact support from inside the app with the transaction ID, and we'll tell you whether it can be recovered. Learn about networks.

Do I need to use P2P?+

No. JOYET converts your crypto for you, so there's no buyer to find and no bank alert to wait for.

Fees and limits

How much does it cost?+

Transfers between JOYET users are free, and airtime has no fee. Some services, such as electricity and gift cards, have a small service fee. You always see it before you confirm.

What are the limits?+

Tier 2 · Verified (NIN or BVN and a liveness check): ₦1,000,000 a day, ₦5,000,000 max balance.

Payments

How fast are payments?+

Transfers between JOYET users are instant. Most bills complete within seconds. Some providers take a little longer, and the app updates you when it's done.

What if a payment fails?+

If a bill payment fails, the money goes back to your JOYET balance automatically.

Can I pay for someone else?+

Yes. You can buy airtime or data for any number, pay any meter, and renew any decoder. You can also ask a friend to pay a bill for you.

Where are my receipts?+

Every deposit, payment and transfer is in your Activity tab, with a receipt you can share.

Security and verification

Do I need to verify my identity?+

You can start with basic limits. To raise your limits and use services like gift cards and crypto deposits, verify with your NIN and a selfie. It takes a few minutes in the app.

Is my money safe?+

Every payment needs your PIN or fingerprint, you can see and sign out your devices, and you can lock the app. See our Security page.

Will JOYET ever ask for my PIN?+

Never. Not on WhatsApp, not by phone, not by email. Anyone who asks for your PIN, password or SMS code is a scammer.
